- This system means that islanders find it easy to get an appointment with their doctor, even at short notice
- Guernsey has 15 pharmacies across the island, making access to prescription medication very easy
- In Guernsey, Secondary or Specialist healthcare is free of charge but is only available via a referral from a GP in primary care
- Private medical insurance is widely available on the Island from many UK based providers, ensuring that residents are covered for costs that fall beyond their health benefits
- Fully private medical care is also available through The Medical Specialist Group
